The Laidley Agricultural and Industrial Society held its Annual General Meeting on the !st October. Over 60 people attended. We thank interested visitors such as The Mayor of the Lockyer Regional Council, Steve Jones, councillors Peter Friend and Dave Neuendorf, President of the Chamber of Agricultural Societies, Mr. Ken Pascoe, The CEO. of QCAS (Qld Chamber) Mr Mark Bryant and the President of the West-Moreton-Brisbane Valley Sub-Chamber of QCAS, Mrs Estelle Drynan, Mrs Lyn Coleman, representatives from the Laidley Pony Club, and another of associations for attending.

The new committee includes a good mix younger people who will be our future. the youngest being JA-El Jackwitz (who will head a youth sub-committee) to Ernie Kowaltzke (Chief Steward of the Produce sections) who with brother Wally and Gordon Neibling keep the grounds in order.
New members are welcome and encouraged. Committee Meetings will be the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The next being Wed 14th October. There will be a Special General Meeting on Wednesday, 21st October.

PRESIDENT OF LAIDLEY SHOW SOCIETY 2009-2010

Craig has lived in Laidley for 3 years after purchasing a block of land and currently building a new home. Partner Rosslyn, opened a Fashion store in town after moving here. He is 4th generation with Rosewood show society where he grew up, having been involved with Show Societies for as long as he can remember. Working for QLD Rail he has lived in several areas of QLD and was a member and part of the centre ring committee of Cairns show for 4 years.
After transferring to Rockhampton Craig was the Horse Superintendant as well as a member of the Horse section Committee of Rockhampton Show. He has been an Honorary Councillor Steward at Brisbane Royal Show Horse Breeds Expo Pavilion for the last 15 years. He understands the importance of meeting protocol and rules and regulations and looks forward to the Laidley Show Society having a bright future with a younger, excited and energetic committee.
